Project: 4700 Expressway BRT Corridor / Small Area Plan

||||||||||| ||||||||||| |||||||||||

Landmark Design led a team of transportation planners and architects on a proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line connectecting Salt Lake Community College's Redwood Road Campus in Taylorsville to the Murray Central Frontrunner station. This transit link is slated to be located in the center of the 4700 South right-of-way, passing several key properties with good redevelopment potential. The plan investigated how to best leverage the BRT line as a place-making tool for the community. The adopted plan envisions a unified series of stations within a green and attractive boulevard, each station having a unique look within a unified language of material, form and uses. The community college station uses the BRT enhancements as a flexible plaza to serve transit needs and host special events on campus.
