Project: Jordan River Trail Master Plan

|||||||| |||||||| ||||||||

Landmark Design was hired by Salt Lake County Parks to prepare a master plan for a nearly 50-mile trail system along the Jordan River Corridor.  The scope of work began with detailed documentation of existing conditions and analysis of the corridor, coordinating with an advisory committee composed of a range of stakeholders, including representatives of all jurisdictions where the Jordan River passed, government agencies, interest groups and citizen representatives. The plan was developed as part of an inclusive public involvement plan, which was developed not only to receive input and ideas, but to provide key data and information as part of an effort to inform and educate.

Landmark Design assembled all available data and background information, contacted and coordinated with all of the communities adjacent to the corridor, developed alternative ideas and concepts for review and consideration, which was eventually developed into a visionary master plan. The result is an award-winning plan that is informative as well as directional. It documents the vision and philosophical underpinnings of a multi-use trail navigable by foot, bicycle and small non-motorized watercraft, and concludes with guidelines to facilitate  implementation of the the trail system.
