Project: 4700 Expressway BRT Corridor / Small Area Plan

||||||||||| ||||||||||| |||||||||||

Landmark Design led a team of transportation planners and architects of a proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line to connect the Redwood Road Campus of Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville with the Murray Central Frontrunner (regional rail)/TRAX (light rail) station. This transit link is slated to be located in the center of the 4700 South right-of-way, passing several key properties with good redevelopment potential. The plan investigated how best to leverage the BRT line as a place-making tool for the community. The adopted plan envisions a unified series of stations within a green and attractive boulevard,  each station having a unique look within a unified language of material, form and uses. The community college station uses the BRT enhancements to create a flexible plaza to serve transit needs and host special events on the campus.
