In order to provide clear policy direction to guide future growth and change, the time has come to update the Spanish Fork City Parks, Recreation and Trails Master Plan. The City has grown rapidly since the existing plan was adopted in 2008, and the current vision must be verified to ensure the plan, and the actions it encompasses, are comprehensive and long-reaching. It is equally critical that the updated Master Plan is formulated in a manner that allows it to be translated into achievable policies, objectives and actions.

The updated plan will establish a parks, recreation and trails vision that balances current and future needs and desires, ensuring that the City develops in a manner that meets existing needs while maximizing unique opportunities and likely changes. It will address new and existing ideas as part of a unified approach. It will also be aligned with established policies related to land use and other elements of the general plan.
